Swift Current City Parade - Rem Won 1st Prize

On July 26^th, Rem Enterprises Inc. was awarded first prize in the Commercial Category for the Swift Current Parade.

WAHOO! The theme for the parade this year was "Old Traditions & New Beginnings". Thank you to all that assisted in decorating the vehicles and the float or being in the parade.

The float had an old grain handling machine that was built in 1984, and the newest Grain VAC model, the 2700, on the other. The old tradition was to be used with an auger and a shovel. Now in agriculture, the bin load out nozzle or floor sweep is used with a 7” Stainless Steel and Rubber Hose. With a new style Grain VAC the farmer can move grain from storage to transport, on a full bin load out at 6,000 bushels per hour. A 70 horsepower tractor is all you need.

Some of the Rem staff and families were part of the third float, sitting in a covered wagon, provided by Frank & Helen Rempel. The theme for this part of the float was "The Career is at Rem...The Track is Yours!.. Manufacturing Your Future". There also was a flag of each Country that Rem supplies product to along the sides of the "covered wagon". The Countries were: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, New Zealand, Russia, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Ukraine and the United States of America. Having all these Countries Listed was a great way to educate the Children watching the parade as well.

It was hard work decorating and preparing for the Parade, but it was a great accomplishment. The team spirit was very evident that day. Everyone enjoyed the event and had lots of candy to throw out to the crowds. Some people received red helium balloons from our very own Rem Clown. Congratulations to a job well done!
